Gary is one of America’s most successful franchise developers. He has founded numerous national franchise systems, and combined they have awarded thousands of franchises in 16 countries worldwide.
With more than 30 years of franchising experience, his companies award a new franchise almost every business day and have been recognized by prestigious publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur, Starting Your Own Business, Franchise Times and Gary has been featured on CNN Financial News and Fox Business News.
Gary’s career is built on a foundation of developing high-demand franchise systems enriched with superior marketing, extensive training and ongoing support which have resulted in most of his businesses being ranked #1 in their respective industries.
An entrepreneur and business owner for over 30 years, Gary has founded and developed dozens of companies in more than 600 markets across the Globe. According to the International Franchise Association, (IFA) this kind of success ranks Gary among the top franchisers in the nation.
Today, he enjoys spending time mentoring and helping people become successful business owners. His inspirational book is filled with his real-life lessons with examples of how becoming a business owner can give people the freedom, wealth and financial security they deserve.

Chris previously served in various senior executive positions, including Vice President with Mr. Handyman International.
Chris is a firm believer in franchising and the franchise model, having gained this belief through his experience as a franchise executive and by owing his own franchise. Chris owned and operated a successful Mr. Handyman franchise and knows firsthand the critical importance of having a world class training, marketing and operational support programs in place for franchise owners at all levels of the system.
After five years of amazing growth and success with Caring Transitions, Chris was promoted to being the COO for all five Strategic Franchising brands to help spread his ideas and proven systems throughout the company.
Executive Vice President, Strategic Franchising
In addition to his leadership role with Strategic Franchising, Dan is also President and Co-Founder of Franchise Funding Group, LLC, the retired CEO/Co-Founder of The Growth Coach franchise system, and co-developer/equity partner and current Board Member of five national franchise systems: Caring Transitions, TruBlue House Care, Pet Wants, Growth Coach, and Fresh Coat. Franchise Funding Group (FFG) helps entrepreneurs to scale their existing and successful businesses nationally through a franchise model.
FFG is like Shark Tank for Franchising…they function as investors and strategic partners in the franchising sector. Prior to getting into franchising in 2002, Dan owned his own business coaching company for over a decade and helped hundreds of small business owners and entrepreneurs achieve greater success and personal balance. Before that, he was a CPA, Audit Manager, and Director of Business Development with the international accounting/consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche for seven years.
Executive Vice President, Strategic Franchising
Barry Nelson is an attorney and franchise executive with over 25 years of experience. He joined Strategic Franchising Systems in 2010 and serves as Executive Vice President in charge of international development, legal affairs, human resources and risk management.
Prior to joining Strategic Franchising Systems, Barry practiced law, focusing on franchising, distribution, licensing, trademarks, contracts, business start-ups, and related business matters.
President, Fresh Coat Painters Franchise
Taking over as President of Fresh Coat in late 2014, Tara brings proven senior executive experience to the company, most recently serving as a Vice President in the Comfort Keeper’s senior care brand.
With over 30 years of executive management and operations experience in franchising, Tara’s greatest success lies in creating profitable growth at every stop in her career. Leading teams in a variety of business models including home improvement and remodeling, Tara has experience working within global franchise icons such as McDonald’s as well as in much younger high-growth brands.
Also experienced as a business owner, Tara understands the challenges and fears new business owners face and has a passion for helping franchisees push through to success.
This experience will be instrumental in leading Fresh Coat on a continued path of growth and quest to be the largest painting brand in the world.
President, The Growth Coach
Ray is a proven leader in building businesses and brands with over twenty years of experience helping franchise owners reach higher levels of performance. He is a huge practitioner and advocate of business coaching. Ray joined us as President of The Growth Coach in July, 2015 after a very successful stay at Comfort Keepers, an in-home senior care franchise system, where he served as Vice President of Company Operations.
Ray also worked as a Southern Business Unit Leader, where he led a team of business coaches in helping hundreds of franchisees achieve record financial performance. Prior to Comfort Keepers, Ray was a Regional Vice President with Luxottica Retail, the global leader in eyewear.
President, Pet Wants
Scott joined us in September, 2017 as President of Pet Wants with a diverse background in franchised urgent care, QSR, and retail businesses. Scott brings expertise in operations, franchise development, franchisee relations, and compliance to the brand that will be beneficial in helping the Pet Wants system achieve success. Scott is a Certified Franchise Executive as recognized by the International Franchise Association and has been effectively leading franchise systems for the past 25 years.
Scott most recently served as Vice President of Franchise Operations at AFC Franchising, LLC, the largest franchised urgent care company in the US operating under the brand name American Family Care. Under Scott’s leadership AFC was named “Zor of the Year” by Franchise Times magazine, recognizing the brand as the best franchise to buy in healthcare. In 2015 Scott and AFC were also recognized as a “Dealmaker of the Year” for the completion of a unique franchise deal where he signed a leading healthcare system in South Carolina on as a franchisee and area developer. In his 25 year franchise experience Scott has also been in leadership positions with Domino’s Pizza (where he was named 2003 Global Operations Director of the Year) , 1-800-flowers, and Ripley Entertainment.
President, TruBlue Total House Care
Greg was named president of TruBlue in February, 2016 after joining the brand originally as COO. Prior to that, Greg was Fresh Coat’s Vice President of Operations where he led the creation of the brand’s proprietary, cloud-based quoting and marketing system and had been instrumental in growing the franchise from 15 owners to 126 and counting.
At TruBlue, Greg works closely with individual franchise owners on building the brand within their exclusive territories. He also leverages their expertise in continually improving the TruBlue franchise system as a whole with new and updated tools aimed at creating a stronger national business. By working with TruBlue and taking advantage of maid, handyman, yard, emergency and seasonal services, homeowners can enjoy the freedom of worry-free living.

Steve Kwon has an extensive and successful history in franchising, taking emerging companies and turning them into national powerhouses. Steve’s history includes working for companies like Money Mailer LLC, Sir Speedy Inc, Budget Blinds Inc, and Mathnasium. He also earned a stellar reputation as a franchising consultant before joining Strategic Franchising in 2016.
Steve’s achievements for the last decade and beyond have expectations running high for his brands at Strategic Franchising. During his tenure as VP of Franchising at Budget Blinds, he led the brand to a #1 national ranking in Window Covering Franchises from 2001-2005 and achieving the rank of the 31st Fastest Growing Franchise in 2004 along with placing in many other lists in publications such as USA Today and Entrepreneur Magazine, along with many others. Steve was also indispensable in his role of VP Mathnasium where, through a very aggressive marketing campaign strategy with an emphasis on radio and digital advertising, grew an emerging franchise into one of the most successful afterschool, supplemental education franchises known today. Throughout his career, Steve has been involved in Master Licensing around the globe, including the US & Canada, Asia, South America, Europe, and New Zealand.
Steve now brings all of his previous experience to bear alongside his high-octane leadership style to ensure the continued growth of the Fresh Coat Painters and Caring Transitions franchises. Steve’s role has been instrumental in helping these two brands continue to make strides towards their full potential.
Vice President of Franchising, The Growth Coach & Pet Wants Brands
David joined Strategic Franchise System as a leading executive in Franchise Development, Operations, and Startup Development for both domestic and international markets. With over 20 years Franchise Development, team building and applying a strong expertise in data-driven, long-term strategic planning, David has been a welcome addition to Strategic as our Vice President of Franchise Development for Pet Wants, TruBlue, and The Growth Coach.
Prior to joining Strategic, David was the Vice President of Franchise Development for Nurse Next Door, where he led franchise development. In his 4-year tenure, David increased more than doubled the Nurse Next Door Canadian franchises, as well as being responsible for the launch the into the US market accompanied by more exponential growth. He also facilitated the joint venture opportunities with companies such as St. Joseph Healthcare System. All the while, he managed a diverse project portfolio, including market analysis studies, managed care systems, call center performance, and customer satisfaction measurement.
From 2007 through 2011, David was VP of Global Development for FasTracKids International, launching hundreds of locations in countries across the globe. In addition, David was an integral member of the Joint Venture/Acquisition and the Licensing/Business Development team, where he led the projects, in China, India and Egypt.
